The Department is implementing continuing education for insurance claim adjusters who will be required to complete twenty-one (21) general credits and three (3) ethics credits. All licensees with a license expiration date of 2026 and thereafter will be required to complete continuing education before they can renew their adjuster license.
Beginning October 1, 2024, Rhode Island continuing education providers can submit courses through the NAIC’s State Based system (SBS) platform under a new course group titled General Adjusting. Courses can be submitted under this category as general credits or a combination of general credits and ethics credits; ethics only courses can be submitted under the course group Ethics. Only approved providers can submit courses.
