Occupational Summary: Client Development Specialist
This position is a front-line business account and client service position responsible for retaining existing relationships and identifying and successfully obtaining business from potential clients utilizing business to business sales techniques. This individual must be able to effectively manage 200-400 events in need of speakers, sponsors, coordination of accredited continuing education content, while meeting customers’ needs and further developing each relationship to its potential.
The successful candidate must be able to multi-task in a very fast paced environment and must have a strong talent and love for client interactions mainly via telephone and email. Experience required in healthcare, insurance, or legal business to business sales, marketing, and servicing.
The Account Representative will be responsible to manage ongoing effective communication and relationships by conducting telephonic check-in points as needed weekly, monthly, quarterly, etc to ensure 100% satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities:
- Intake of new programs
- Speaker and Sponsor Recruitment
- Asking existing speakers/sponsors/customers for referrals to others in the industry to create new relationships
- Outreach to database (warm calls) for other lines of business
- Coordination with other members of the team to fill course openings with qualified speakers and/or sponsors
- Conduct a minimum of 100 marketing cold calls by phone per week to create course leads and performing follow-up on responses from all marketing leads for courses/speakers/sponsors.
- Respond to all phone calls and messages (email and telephone) within 24 hours.
- Demonstrate complete working knowledge of compliance with accreditation standards and company policies by reviewing and providing verbal summaries for standards and policies at the end of 30 days
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business. Equivalent skills learned through business development, sales experience may be considered.
- Experience working with Microsoft office programs
- Experience with outreach and social tools for recruitment, branding, and marketing such as Constant Contact Email marketing and LinkedIn
- Experience working in a fast paced collaborative environment
- High level of professionalism and confidence demonstrated by telephone and written communications
- Ability to present to and influence customers
- Occasional offsite events and meetings necessary
- Must be independent self-starter with ability to spend 90% of the time working independently
- Experience managing B2B customer accounts in insurance, healthcare, or legal field
- Cold calling experience preferred
